Let’s start with the display. This tablet has an amazing 10.8 inch display at 1920×1280 pixels. Why do I say amazing? Well, the screen is very bright and has vibrant colors, accompanied by very deep blacks. To top is off, the screen is fully laminated. The lamination in the screen cuts down on reflections a LOT so the display is much more visible in sunlight or a bright room. Also, the sound of fingers hitting the glass gives a very premium feel, compared to the plasticky sound the nonlaminated display makes. Another very important asset about this screen, is that you can use 10 fingers simultaneously and SurBook Mini will recognize them all. That is a technology known as “10-point touch screen”. The most basic is a 2 point touch, which is what most tablets have.
The CPU is an Intel Celeron N3450 quad core at 1.1GHz which can run up to 2.2GHz under stressful situations like gaming or editing. This is a very good processor, but it’s not meant for gaming or very heavy loads. Along with the 4GB RAM of the device, you have an excellent device for basic tasks, like browsing the web, viewing movies, checking your e-mail and playing casual games.
Another impressive element of this tablet, is its storage drive. Chuwi SurBook Mini is equipped with the blazing fast Samsung eMMC 5.1 drive which provides speeds up to 250 megabytes per second (MB/s) for sequential data reading and 125MB/s for sequential writes. The standard version of the device comes with 64GB of storage and you can also expand it up to 128GB with an additional micro SD card.
The cameras are pretty basic, which is something expected, as at this very low price you can’t demand cameras with cutting edge technology. They both are 2.0MP and are more than fine to cover your basic needs like taking an occasional photo.
The Battery Capacity is at 8000mAh which will last you approximately ~8 hours of heavy use without the need of charging. And when the time for charging comes, you can use the very fast Type-C port, which can offer rapid battery charging.
Moreover the Wireless-AC (802.11ac) technology ensures that your wifi will be as fast as possible. Wireless-AC can transmit wireless at rates more than 6x the best Wireless-N devices, and 100x the best Wireless-G devices.
Last but not least, the build quality is something that doesn’t need to concern you. The device gives a very premium feel, thanks to the fully laminated screen and the metal backplate.
