The first laptop ever created by Teclast!
Teclast is known for it’s quality and affordable tablets such as the x98 plus II. What we are going to review today though, is Teclast’s first attempt at a notebook, as the Teclast F6 Pro Notebook is the first ever laptop from Teclast. The main selling point of this device is the touch screen, along with the 360° rotatable screen.
Will their debut be successful? Let’s dive right into the specs of the laptop to find out:
Teclast F6 Pro Notebook Specs
|Operating System||Microsoft Windows 10|
|Processor (CPU)||Intel Core m3-7Y30 Dual Core 1.0GHz, up to 2.6GHz|
|Graphics Card||Intel HD Graphics 615|
|Display||13.3 inch IPS Screen with 1920 x 1080 Resolution and 10-point multi-touch|
|Expandable Storage||With MiscroSD|
I’ll start with the display.
13.3 inch IPS touch display with a glossy screen. The resolution is 1920×1080, therefore its FullHD. We have 166 pixels per inch and a 16:9 aspect ratio. One thing you’ll notice right off the bat, is that this is not a fully laminated display. It’s not a big deal, but it does affect the brightness of the screen under extreme sunlight. Nonetheless, the display has very vibrant colours, with crisp and clear representation. Seeing as it has an IPS panel, we do get very good viewing angles. The touch screen is really responsive, thanks to the 10-point multi-touch, meaning that you can use 10 fingers simultaneously on the screen and Teclast F6 Pro will recognize them all.
Now, the touch aspect of the display, is exceptionally made. You can easily scroll with your fingers, pinch to zoom in and out and do different gestures.
The fact that is 360° , means that the laptop is very versatile in how you can use it.
We have the Tent Mode:
The stand mode:
And last but certainly not least, the tablet mode:
The keyboard is sturdy, comfortable to type to, with nicely spaced out buttons. The one drawback I found is that it’s not backlit. The touchpad works very well and responsively. It can receive gestures in order to zoom:
or scroll in the page:
Within the trackpad, there is also placed a fingerprint sensor in the upper left corner, which is very easy to setup. It works great for logging in to windows and is very fast in recognizing your finger.
Teclast F6 Pro comes with an Intel Core M3-7Y30, which is passively cooled. This 7th Generation CPU has a total of two cores, based on the Kaby Lake architecture. The cores run at 1.0 GHz and reach in the TurboBoost mode a maximum clock rate of 2.6 GHz. Hyper-Threading is supported, with 4 total threads.
The intergrated GPU is an Intel HD Graphics 615, which is much better than the 5xx we’re used to seeing. Still not enough for heavy gaming, but can easily manage light gaming and medium-demanding tasks like light editing. If you are intrested and want to read more on gaming with Intel HD, you can check the tests we did and what games we were able to play.
As far as the storage goes, we have 8GB of DDR3 RAM and 128GB of m.2 SSD. We have seen the importance of the SSD in a previous article. We would like to see DDR4, but at this low price, we can’t be too demanding. 8GB are plenty and will enable you to multitask with ease and no lagging.
The 128GB of SSD are a lot as well and you will not run out of storage any time soon.
Regarding the connectivity of Teclast F6 Pro, we have plenty of capabilities. Two USB 3.0 ports, one USB-C port, a micro-USB port with OTG support, a micro HDMI port, a 3.5 mm audio output and a MicroSD memory card slot.
Moreover the Wireless-AC (802.11ac) technology ensures that your wifi will be as fast as possible. Wireless-AC can transmit wireless at rates more than 6x the best Wireless-N devices, and 100x the best Wireless-G devices.
Finally, the bluetooth 4.2 is a great addition, as we are used to seeing 4.0 and 4.1. The 4.2 bluetooth is much faster and more reliable than his predecessors, so it’s much more than welcome.
Is this laptop worth buying? Considering the specs of this device, the capabilities and the price, I truly believe that yes it’s worth it. Also there is a flash sale happening right now. However, Teclast F6 Pro targets a very limited audience who needs to ble able to appreciate the rotating screen and features. If you think that you belong in this category, don’t hesitate to buy. Otherwise, you could find great performing laptops for cheaper than this.
